Our Story

BYN started as a new hobby that slowly turned into a passion. It tends to happen with the things we get into, whether it’s sports, music or psychology. We get curious, we want to understand how things work, learn more, and somehow they end up taking a little more space in our lives than we probably expected. Coffee was no different.

We are both Lebanese, so coffee has always been a smell around the house. Our own journey evolved with instant coffee, then capsules, supermarket beans, and eventually, after moving to France, we discovered small coffee shops and roasters. We started wondering how we could make our coffee at home taste that good too. So we started learning, trying and changing little things along the way. That discovery became BYN. We’re not coffee experts trying to tell you the right way to drink coffee. We’re simply sharing what we’ve learned.

Music became part of BYN because that’s how we enjoy coffee ourselves. A morning cup, an afternoon break, a good song playing in the background. We love vinyl, nature and those little things that make us slow down for a moment. Coffee does the same for us. It’s a real pause, and that’s the feeling we wanted BYN to have.

Behind it all are Biggie, Yasmine and Nino. B, Y, N. Yasmine, our warm psychologist, Nino, our funny athlete, and Biggie, our 12-year-old German Shepherd and the calmest of us all. We wanted Biggie to be the face of BYN because, to us, he is the definition of love and loyalty. He has always been there, quietly by our side, and in some way, he’ll always live through BYN.

Maybe that’s what BYN is really about: going back to the simple things. A good coffee, a good song, a loyal dog by your side, and taking the time to enjoy the little things. Even the name brings us back to where it all starts, the bean itself.
